Lunchtime on the Thames, in Reading.

One of the best things about working from home, and living in the country, is that my lunchtime walks give me scenes like this.

Both of these images were taken from, as near as was possible, the same place. The top image, taken about a year ago (January 2011) after the snow thawed; the bottom image, taken a few days ago (January 2012). To give some sort of scale to the differences in the water levels, I’m just under 6′ and I can stand fully upright under the left most arch, which, as you can see, is almost fully submerged in the top image.
