Birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots, Linlithgow Palace, to the West of Edinburgh, was one of the principal residences of the monarchs of Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries.
What looks like it could be a tower belonging to a fairy tale princess, is actally an elaborate dovecot in the Saltoun Woods to the south of Pencaitland, East Lothian.
